Hot Dog Stand Beach Turnout

If a local asks if you'd like to go to the Hot Dog Stand, bring a towel and your swimsuit, not your appetite. This beach area is fondly remembered as the "Hot Dog Stand", a business that provided food and refreshments to all the kids and families in town who gathered on the sandy shores of Lake Huron many a warm summer day.  The actual Hot Dog Stand is long gone, but the memories remain vivid.  Hot Dog Stand Beach is five miles from town, south out M-134, and offers ample parking with a long rolling sand dune giving way to a beautiful sandy beach spanning over 1/2 mile of Lake Huron shoreline.  With its length, hiking the shoreline is amazing, and shallow waters near shore make gathering of families and friends exciting.
